PACKAGING LEAF SAMPLES

ATTENTION: All leaf samples must be DRIED in an oven at 70 degrees C. for 24 hours before packing and shipping.

WE CANNOT RECEIVE SAMPLES OF FRESH PLANT TISSUE OF ANY KIND DUE TO USDA PHYTOSANITARY RESTRICTION.

Any sample of FRESH plant tissue will be confiscated and destroyed!

Ideally, the samples should be dried and then ground to small particle size prior to shipment.

After drying the Foliage samples, follow these instructions:

  1. Always pack dried leaf samples in paper, not plastic bags, with the name and number of the sample on the outside of the bag. (Minimum sample size = 50 grams dried plant material). As an alternative, you may place 250-300 grams of fresh plant tissue into a paper bag and then place the full bag inside an oven for 24 hours at 70 degree C temperature. Crush the dried contents of the bag with your hands, once the sample is dry.

  2. Label the paper bags with an indelible marker, indicating the sample number and your client Name. Place all of the paper bags into a large plastic bag and close securely.

  3. Include the Sample Submittal Form, which specifies your sample descriptions and the appropriate analytical codes desired. Consult with Stephanie VonDenlinger if you desire assistance. Include your country of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificate which specifies that the samples are destined for chemical analysis only.

  4. Place the large plastic bag inside a sturdy cardboard box and ship to:
