ANALYTICAL CODE PACKAGES:

Waters:
In the majority of new projects, one should always begin with a complete irrigation water chemistry evaluation. It is indispensable to confirm that the chemistry of the irrigation water to be employed, is appropriate for the project of interest. If the water chemistry is NOT adequate for a specific crop use, the project may have to be abandoned or another source of water with more adequate chemistry may have to be found .

A01 Fertility (major elements) determined by pH, salinity, Nitrate nitrogen (NO3), ammonium nitrogen (NH4), phosphate phosphorous, potassium, calcium, magnesium analyses. Utilized to evaluate fertility and plant fertilizer programs. Commonly used for field and greenhouse fertility control. Soil extraction with sodium chloride solution, sodium bicarbonate solution and distilled water. $32.00
A17 Complete Fertility (major and minor elements): A01 plus minor elements (copper, zinc, manganese, iron, boron). $50.00
A02

Agricultural suitability package determines pH, salinity, boron, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium employing saturation extract. This analysis package determines the potential hazard from salinity, sodium, boron and impaired soil structure. Not designed for fertility information.

Plant Tissue Analysis (foliar analysis):
The use of plant analysis as an accurate method for evaluating nutritional status, nutritional requirements and toxicity, has increased greatly in the past several decades due to the large amount of research in this field. Since each crop has its own set of optimal levels, it is necessary that background information be available in order to make use of plant analysis. Sampling of proper plant parts is essential to acquiring useful data. Comparisons of normal vs. symptomatic leaves or plant parts can sometimes be helpful with or without background data.
